身穿 Beijing: Women in uniform Part 1 of 3

Back in Beijing where we left off the last time in this blog, I was delighted by the sights of these beautiful women in chinese traditional dresses posted to welcome guests in teashops or even in various other stores. And not only were they dressed up beautifully but they were actually very hospitable, sweet and genuinely kind.

Anyway, they were all very lovely to look at. In some stores they were dressed up in traditional Han, and in some - Manchu. For this much of my attention went checking this book on chinese traditional dresses for men and women, given to me by my causin and his wife before, knowing I am deeply fascinated in everything historical and traditional.

The information on chinese traditional dresses is vast, but simply said the difference of this two styles can be identified by for example the collars, Han style has that overlapping open design like that on modern robes today or kimonos, and Manchu´s the closed collars like that on well known Qi Pao.

It has really been a pleasant reading and tea evening, and so I hope your´s too!

For Chadao,
